Gift of Holly

My Aunt shares my love of decorating and using natural plants we grow to create wonderful and personal floral designs. As part of my Christmas she shipped me some of her verigated holly. Hollies have long been a symbol of Christmas and winter festivals as they stay green year round and are seen as a symbol of eternity. They were also thought as a way to invite the good fairies into your home and ward of the witches. Some say they have been adopted by Christmas to symbolize the crown of thorns and Christ sacrifice. However you want to use them symbolically they are a happy plant for Christmas. I have always loved holly and mistletoe.

It was a wonderful gift and my husband got me a bouquet of flowers at the grocery store to make a beautiful Christmas floral designs.
