A wreath on the front door is welcoming and festive. It helps to celebrate whatever season or holiday.

To me a wreath is often the first thing people see. It sets the first impression of your and your home. They can be seen from the street and welcomes visitors to your home. A wreath should reflect and show them your personality. Sometimes I buy a pre-made and add to it. Sometimes I make them from scratch. Sometimes I re-fresh and re-make.

This Christmas I did all three types plus extra.

The first wreath I refreshed my old winter wreath. I had used this wreath for three years. It was still in good shape, but I was ready for something new.

I disassembled the wreath taking off the birds and the ribbon. The wreath is now back to the base wreath I bought.

I made a new bow with birch print bow, added a new color of ornaments to compliment the ones existing, and add some eucalyptus.

Don’t throw away your old wreath! Sometimes a few simple changes and a little update returns them to a thing of beauty.

The second wreath started out as a fun idea. I volunteered to make a wreath for a prize raffle at work. As I shopped for this wreath I wanted a fun generic theme that would appeal to a large group of people. I used a little snowman as a muse. Red, Apple Green, and White. A little whimsical fun.

Layering a wool ball garland, some fun floral picks, red ornament, a multi Ribbon Bow, and to top it off it my muse, a skiing snowman. I put to much of me into this wreath to give away.

The red ornaments are old ornaments from my mother-in-law and the skiing snowman was a gift I took to my mother when she was in the hospital during cancer treatments. She returned him to me before she passed away. Both of these great women have passed yet their love is still with me. By putting these items on my door on a wreath it honors them. A wreath is a symbol of the circle of life or never ending love. Such is a mother’s love, what is more fitting for Christmas.

The third wreath was the wreath I made for my work. I named it the Classic Beauty of the Holiday Season. I needed an idea to start to create. It was fo someone yet to be named so it was harder for me to make generic. The raffle was simple. If you had a stocking on December 1st you were entered in a drawing.

I used colorful mix of unique classic ornaments, floral picks with a little whimsy, and beautiful unique ribbon. I only use wire on my wreaths so they can be refreshed easily.

This wreath turned out beautiful.

The fourth wreath I started as my new Christmas wreath. I love the dusty blue color of Blue Spruce or Juniper. It needs a rustic touch. The wreath is called Rustic touch of Christmas.

Juniper, Rusty Star. Wooden beads, and a Double ribbon bow.

The last wreath was for a co-worker who brought me a few items. The items let me know what she loved and what direction to go with the wreath.

The finished product. Frost and warmth of the season. A little sparkle to the season.

It has been a regular wreath-a-palozza at our house.
